One Month Old
(October 7, 2005)

Hi, O'Malley. Did you know you're 1-month-old today?

There's something I've noticed about your feathers, O'Malley Peepers. It seems that the first feathers to grow are your ear feathers. Let's take a look back at previous weeks to see their development, shall we?

Here you are at approximately 10-days-old. You can't even see where your ears are yet.

By 15-days-old though, you can see a tuft of ear feathers forming.

At 21-days-old, that tuft has started to grow dark feathers in it. You have ear feathers now, even though you don't have other feathers yet.

Finally, at 28-days-old, you can clearly see your ear tuft, and your face feathers are starting to grow in dark, replacing the yellow fuzz. Nice ear feathers, O'Malley Peepers.

Even though you're not a yellow fuzzball anymore, you're a really sweet big duck.

Happy 1-month-old day, O'Malley!

:: stay tuned ::
