Flapper Builds A Nest
(March 10, 2007)

Hi Flapper & Kozmo Kirby. What's new?

"I'm nesting! Back away from my nest, please."
Oh really, Flapper? Hmm... that's interesting.

"Yes. I decided it was time to settle down."
Are there any eggs in your nest, Flapper?

"Let me check. Straw. Leaves. Wood shavings. Hmm... nope. No eggs."

"I knew I was forgetting something. Do you have any eggs?"
No, I'm afraid I don't, Flapper.

"Where am I going to get some eggs?"
Flapper? I bet if you impress some of the girls, they will lay some eggs for you.

"Good thinking!"

"Attention lady ducks! Check out this belly."

"Oh yeah. Uh huh. C'mon girls. How 'bout we make some eggs?"

"As if."

"It's not working."
Keep trying, Flapper. But in the meantime, why don't we take a lunch break?

"Oooh buffet for lunch! Good idea, Mom."

"Waiter? Can I get a table for six?"
Sure, Flapper. Step right up.

"Mmm... Weeds are in season."

"Yeomch yeomch yeomch yeomch yeomch."

"Thanks for the good eats, Mom."
You're welcome, O'Malley Peepers. Thanks for clearing out the weeds!

"Now it's time for a snuggle nap."
I agree, O'Malley. Sweet dreams.

In other news...

Check out these amazing chocolates sent to us by Lori in California. You can see her chocolate confections for yourself on her website, chocolatefantasies.com (WARNING: Not all fantasies are Rated-G)

Aren't they great?

Congratulations to Annabelle (right) on finding a new, sweet friend named Bobby Lee (left). Bobby Lee Peanut is a rescue duck cared for by Kendra before being adopted by Sky. Great work, duck avengers.

Condolences go out to Peggy on the loss of her ducky Hooker. Rest in peace, Hooker.

Quacks also go out to this beautiful pekin boy, Biscuit, being cared for by Kendra (she's such a good egg). Biscuit was attacked by a dog but is doing well now and hanging with his fellow ducks Bailey & Clarence. Best wishes to you, Biscuit!

Lastly, very special quacks go out to Crackers Duck, who kept her goose friend Smalls company while Dr. Franco and friends built and attached an amazing prosthetic beak for Smalls (doesn't it look great?) You're a good friend, Crackers.

Smalls the Goose lost most of her top beak in a predator attack, but her future looks brighter now. Special quacks to Marlys, Cathy, the veterinarians and staff who made this dream come true for Smalls.

CHECK IT OUT!

The Duck Rescue Network relaunched their website in January with new, helpful information about ducks and geese. It's a great non-profit organization that brings together duck rescuers from all over the nation. As Kozmo Kirby would say, "It's for a good Koz!"
