Congratulations, Juno
Baby duckling has already found a great forever home! Her new family will take her home at the end of August, when she’s big-enough to live with their other two ducks, Fling & Thor.

They named this new duckling “Juno” because they are taking a trip to Juneau, Alaska soon. We’re super happy that this foster duckling will become their new forever duck, and that Juno gets such a great family to live with.
Already, Juno is growing super big, as you can see here.

“I can’t wait to meet my new family. Thanks for adopting me!”

Yes, special thanks to Adrian and family. Fling & Thor are getting a very special friend and Juno is getting a great forever home.

UPDATE: Juno was not aware her image is being used to sell crappy televisions on woot.com. Juno does not approve of this usage. She told me so. She has changed all her photo licensing to ensure companies know she’s not interested in selling their crap.
P.S. Dear people of Carrolton, TX. I can SEE when you visit the blog you know. It takes less time to remove my photo than it does to draw up threatening legal emails, don’t you think?

A wonderful story with a happy ending!!
Congratulations Juno!!
This makes me sublimely happy.
You are such a terrific person, Tiff, seriously! How lucky are these wee tots to find you and get to foster with you?
*thinking*
Hey, can I come be a foster duck? I promise not to bite your ankles!
Congrats, Juno! I am sure you will get along great with Chewy’s cousins. We will miss you though… I hope Aunt Tiff will visit you often and show us pictures of you growing big and strong!
Yay, Juno! I’m thrilled for you. I knew that those soulful eyes and cute feets would melt someone’s heart before long.
I read that Fling and Thor are superhero ducks, so you have to grow up big and strong so you’ll be able to keep up with them, ok sweetie? Your foster mom will help you with that.
What a cool name–it works if you turn out to be a boy or a girl.
Great! Hooray for Juno! What’s awesome about this, is… YOU get to do the FUN part and go through all the adorable baby stages! Will she go to work with you? That would be fun. She’ll be totally socialized! Can’t wait to see more pix.
congrats juno
Juno is going to be very welcome here by us humans! We’ll work to get Fling and Thor to get with the program, too.
Adrian’s 11th birthday is today, so as his surprise, I told him about the adoption. He was thrilled. I wanted to be sure it was all a go before letting him know I was even considering it. He said that with 3 ducks, we now had a flock.
Thanks, Tiff – I know this was one of those things that was meant to be. I’m glad we could make it work.

It looks like he has some spots on his bill? Was everything ok on his quacker?
The beak grew so fast, and the bigger beak now is pinker. The orange spots are what’s leftover of the tiny baby beak. It’s almost like the big beak burst out of the little one! But it’s fine.
I fostered some ducklings last year that had spots on their beaks (and feet). The vet and I determined that it was due to malnutrition in the mother! When you get unknown fosters, ya never know….
It’s so great that you were able to help this wee little cutie and give her a good start in life.
Looks like someone stole your image for use in today’s woot item!
Yeah, woot sucks.
To be fair, the TV isn’t crappy
Other than that, using images without permission is pretty bogus… but it’s kind of flattering too, isn’t it? Usually they use stills from movies but they really liked your image I guess. From what I can tell, the woot people are pretty cool folks… but I’m shocked that they don’t seem to understand or care about photography copyright.
Oh, you could probably sue for some of the money they made selling those TVs (or likely settle). Get screenshots of their usage of your image. Just because you put an image online does NOT negate copyright.
Yeah you could definitely sue them. Similar thing happened with me a couple years ago.. I did a photojournalism project on the local homeless youths around town and a nationwide non-profit (can’t release company name) used a photo of mine on their main graphic for a campaign they were starting and I got a little over 200,000 after all fees and things were set in stone.
I mean, we’re trying to help people, not have our rights impeded upon. I mean, really..
