Growing Up
Look who’s growing up!
Juno is getting all her big-duck feathers and growing taller every day.
She has a little spot on her tail. One random feather.
She still follows Chewy wherever he goes.
But now… Chewy follows her sometimes, too.
If I didn’t know any better, Chewy… I’d think you like the baby monster now. Is that true?
“Well… maybe. I think she’s okay I guess.”
“Oh good idea, Juno. Let’s go swimming!”
Yep. He likes her.
Juno goes to her great forever home on the 30th of this month. She doesn’t really understand it, but she’s going to go live with two ducks who look very similar to Chewy. They’re both magpie ducks and they’re named Fling & Thor. So it’s pretty cute that she’s made friends with a magpie duck already. Should make it easier for her to transition to her forever home.

She’s becoming quite the elegant young lady. A little dollop of marshmallowy goodness, with a stripe of caramel down her back.
Wish I were there — I would give that little tushie such a pinch.
Do you think Chewy is going to miss her when she is gone?
I think Choo Choo might miss her a bit, but he’ll also be happy to not have a shadow following him around and kicking him out of his own pool. He jumps straight up every time she gets a little too close.
will juno have visits with chewy?
Nope, probably not, Nick. But Juno will live with a boy and girl duck who look just like Chewy, named Fling & Thor. She’s young-enough that I think she’ll make the transition fine. Chewy might miss her a bit, but I think she’ll get attached to the new ducks really quickly.
Do you think she’s a campbell? She looks a lot like my Amos and Andie when they were that age. I wish I could have her! But three’s enough. Well, that’s what my neighboors think.
You know, she’s teeny. Today I think she’s… a call duck. I didn’t think her beak looked like a call duck beak before. It’s possible she’s some kind of hybrid. But she’s not big-enough to be a campbell or a pekin, unless she’s just small because she had such a rough start in life.
I wish she’d just tell me what she is. She probably has, but I just don’t listen.
