Cute on the Inside, too

Flapper had good x-rays today. He was not too happy about going back in for another vet visit, but we took him to the emergency clinic because they have a great x-ray machine.

Flapper looks pretty cute on the inside, don’t you think? I prefer to only see the outside of him, but this inside view will help the vets see if there’s anything wrong. You can click on the image to see it at full-size.

Flapper did really well through the x-rays, and didn’t even get stressed out.

I can’t read the x-rays, but I think they’re cute. We should hear from the vet experts on Monday. There was an area of concern on his crappy little x-ray last week. These great x-rays should clarify whether that area for concern is still concerning or not.
I’ll post more when I hear the good word. He’s doing really well right now, so I’m not too concerned for his immediate health.
Oh! When we looked up this clinic to ask if we could bring Flapper to get good x-rays taken, we found their website online and saw that they were featuring one of our kids on their home page.

Recognize that duck? That’s Chewy! He was at this emergency clinic on July 4, 2007 after O’Malley ripped a hole in him. I didn’t realize they took a picture of him when he was there. They sewed him up and he has been good as new ever since.
I think he looks cute on their homepage, and Chewy was flattered that they featured him. He has asked that his model royalties be paid in peas.

Tiff

“Young Mr. Flapper Duck” – how cute!
Well… my last name is Young, but yes… funny.
What a good patient, I hope he got fries on the way home.
Wouldn’t he prefer to be addressed as Young Mr. Flapper Duck, esq?
wow great x rays now where is his heart in that x ray
Yes, Mr Flapper is a looker, even on the inside, that’s for sure! What a good boy to put up with all the vet pokes and prods! And Chewy looks adorable too, ha that’s why he was chosen for the web site! You know I was watching Flapper today on the web cam and he looked like an extraordinarily happy duck! But I was wondering to myself if he was walking a little labored and stiff. I’m hoping that the way he was moving is called “waddling” and praying along with everyone that everything is OK! He certainly has the best care!
Flappypants is extremely photogenic, inside and out. And Chooch? Oh my god, is he cute. It’s very smart of them to put him on the homepage — he’ll bring in lots of new business for sure.
Eagerly awaiting the news from the doc….
Kathy – he does walk a little funny. I am not sure if it’s from his cloaca issues or what. I can’t remember if he’s always been a waddler or if his walk has changed over the years, but he definitely waddles more than Chewy does.
Those x-rays are so interesting – thanks for sharing them, Flapper!
Way to go, Chewy – now you’re famous!
Those are definitely the cutest duck insides I have ever seen.
Well… They’re the only duck insides I’ve ever seen, but still!
Good for Flapper, I’m happy he let them takes these pictures. They are very sharp and clear, though I don’t know what all that stuff is between his bones;-)
I don’t see a pipe-cleaner so that’s good.
I’m hoping for good news, I hope this reassures you too.
How fitting for THE celebrity duck to get his expose photos published. I think I even see lots of peas and duck food in his stomach on that last xray, waiting to be process!
Amazing how Flapper is willing to model in these awkward poses for the xray. He wasn’t on anesthesia, was he?
This good boy most definitely deserves a great round of authetic McD’s french fries.
Flapper did not have any anesthesia, no. Awake the whole time. Didn’t take long at all. Doc gave him a clean bill of health for now so he’s all good.
Maybe it’s the science geek in me, but I love looking at x-rays. They’re so cool! It didn’t occur to me that your last name was Young. I assumed you had a humorous vet.
Congrats to Chewy on his model debut.
really cool xrays. thanks for showing us! i got a kick out of the ticklish spots.
chewy should definitely get peas royalties.
