All Ready
The duck pens are finally rearranged and the ducks are settled in for the night.

We had no idea moving and fixing the pens would take all weekend, and we’re exhausted!
Now the ducks are set up out of the way of where the aviary will be built. We’re not building it ourselves, but pricing it out. It’ll probably take about a month from beginning to end.
In other news, Meelee is feeling well.

She was sleepy in this photo, but she is feeling fine and has a good appetite. We’ll weigh her in another week or so to make sure she isn’t losing weight.
Simon is doing well, too.

He is super snuggly these days. As soon as I sit down on the couch, he attaches himself to my side and stays put. As long as he’s leaning on me, he’s happy.
That’s it for this weekend. We’re TIRED!
G’nite everyone.
Here’s a quick look at the space the aviary will occupy when it’s built:

Such sweet kitty faces, I had to comment!
Glad to hear you’re not making the aviary yourself! That sounds like a huge job.
Simon is such a photogenic cat. He’s beautiful. I’m glad to hear that Meelee is eating. What about Ensure?? just kidding but it does add extra calories and it’s milk based.
Damn, those are spacious digs. I think that’s bigger than the average NYC studio. Can we move in?
I’m happy that plans for the aviary are coming together. Flappy, Choo, Malley and Toonie deserve the very best.
Yipee, The ducks can swim and play all day when it’s done! Did O’Malley promise to behave himself? Or after Mom does all this work will O’Malley be requesting his own, ahem “private spa,” fenced inside this so Chewy dosen’t get…well, chewed?…..LOL It really looks deluxe, I am envious! The kittys look happy! It’s all good….
Funny you should mention that, Kathy. I am having the aviary built and then I will make a temporary fence inside of it so that Flapper & Chewy have half and O’Malley and Petunia have half. O’Malley is a lovable, snuggable muscovy drake, but he just can’t be trusted not to rip the stuffing out of other drakes.
OOOH, its gonna look so nice!! what a bunch of lucky critters! thanks for keeping us posted.
Tiff, i was looking at the Flapper Cam today. The duck to the right of Flapper, who is that? The duck looks huge and I thought for a minute it was a turkey. I can’t wait until you have the aviary done. You’ll have to adjust yout Flapper Cam too. I’m sure they have all loved the rain we have had lately. Better than snow any day.
No big duck to the right of Flapper. There’s a purple house they can duck into and there’s a mirror that reflects. Flapper & Chewy are on the right 3 squares in the shape of an L now, and O’Malley & Petunia are on the left 3 squares in a line. Nothing to the right of Flapper except Choo Choo, and he’s smaller.
It was duck buns that i saw to the right of Flapper or thought I saw so it could be from the mirror. Well, now we know that snow is coming so i spoke to soon – “we would prefer the rain over the snow.” I’m excited for the spring and summer to see ‘whom’ you might be rescueing and adding to your backyard.
