Too Too and Choo Choo
“Would you like to see my wings?”

I would, Toonie!
“Here they are!”

They’re looking pretty good, Petunia.
“Thank you.”

You’re welcome, Toonie.
Petunia’s wings are looking great. She has one wing slightly clipped so she doesn’t fly out of the yard, and she still has a little bit of damage to her wings from the raccoon attack in November. But once she molts again her wings will be perfect.
“Is that a worm?”

It could be, Chewy. Why don’t you taste it and see?
“Blech! Blech. Not a worm.”

Ha ha, that’s quite a face, Choo Choo.
“It was a slug. I don’t like slugs. I have very refined tastes.”

Oh, I know you do, Chewy. I’ll be more careful in the future.
Chewy has always been a picky eater, but he’s a good eater, too.

We got about 3″ of snow last night, but the ducks weathered it just fine. It’s a little chilly for them, but most of the snow melted today and no more is expected. Hopefully it’s warm-enough in the morning to fill their pools up a bit. Otherwise we’ll have to carry buckets out to their pens, which is never fun.
We’re expecting a few estimates on the new aviary in the next week, and then we’ll start building.
Stay tuned.

Petunia, you look fantastic! This makes me happy, good to see you are doing so well! Beautiful wings sweetie, I wished my ducks had such beautiful colors!
Chewy, slugs are good for you, you should try to like them, that way your mom will be able to enjoy her plants longer too;-)
Beautiful pictures! I’m looking forward to see the aviary being built! Exciting new developments. No more snow please!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen prettier wings. Well done, Toonie.
Petunia is no joke. I’ve always thought she was a cutiepie, but after watching her fend off that raccoon via the cam, I have tons of respect for her. She is not to be trifled with.
I love all the duckies at Chez Flapper, but I have just an extra special bit of love for Choo. There’s something kooky about him that makes me laugh every time. I also identify with him: he’s neither leader of the pack nor a follower, but he just wants to be left in peace to do his own thang. I am totally like that. Definitely not a “team player.”
Way to be, Chooch.
Haha, I feel like I was watching a high school skit:
First the lovely female magician, followed by the comical act.
Petunia, you are a beautiful girl, no doubt about it! You can show off all you want…we will watch with admiration!
Chewy, why are you waisting time looking in the grass for something yummy? Just kiss up to mom…..you can’t loose!
Oh my goodness, what cute pictures!!!
toonie is such a pretty girl
that “blech!” pic of chewy is precious! lol
Toonie! What an elegant, strong lady. I think, of all the awesome ducks at Flapper’s House, Toonie is becoming my favorite. She might not be a celebrity like Flapper, or a not-the-shark chanteur like O’Malley, or a comedian like Choo, but she has a grace and strength that a lot of non-feathered ladies could learn from. Way to show it to those boys, Toonie!
Petunia looks so good and looks like she has gotten over her raccoon scare. do ducks actually like slugs? i know they eat vegetables and bugs. Worms too? You would have laughed at my sister and I the other night? it’s late at night and i had dropped her off at her home and there were these big worms in the street. So we got out and picked each of the earthworms up and put them in the dirt along the sidewalk. I have done that since I was little. I should have saved some for your ducks. LOL
Petunia !!!! You look so beautiful!
