Happy Jack is Home
Happy Jack, the pekin you helped through your generous donations to our rescue fund, was given the “all clear” by the vet yesterday. He headed straight to his forever home on Whidbey Island, WA. He has some chicken friends and of course some human friends… but he doesn’t have any duck friends. We hear he is doing well in his new home. So well in fact, that we’re thinking of asking Happy Jack’s new humans if they would be interested in two more ducks: Lily & Sam. His forever home has predator-proof pens and experienced humans who came highly recommended by a wildlife rehabilitator.
As much as I love Lily & Sam, if we can get them placed in a great, safe forever home, we would open up a pen here for the next rescue who needs help. Also, Jack would have some duck friends to keep him company.
So we should hear back soon if Happy Jack’s family has room for two more. If not, Lily & Sam are welcome to stay here as long as they need to. We’ll keep you posted.
Quacks,
Tiff

I am happy for you Happy Jack and I hope you get some duck friends soon but I would sure miss the updates on Lily and Sam. I am so happy you both are getting healthy and well. And do understand to room for the next rescues
It’s great you can locate other good homes for these water fowls. Hopefully this will work out good for all involved. If Lily and Sam do go to Whidbey, maybe the new owners can send us photos and updates.
What? And break up the bromance between Sam and Flapper?? I dunno….
I understand that you’re looking out for the best interests of Sam and Lily and of possible new rescues. I will miss seeing them if they go, though.
Would love to see pix of Happy Jack.
I missed this post. Hmmm, so you are considering about letting Sam and Lily go?
You’ve always said you might have to give them up but reading that you are looking around did come as a surprise. But I understand and if Happy Jack’s parents are up to it it sounds like a good match. You’ve helped them back on their feet, made healthy and happy ducks out of them so maybe it’s time to find that forever home for them. I hope it works out and I hope they will continue to be happy.
Whatever you decide I’m behind you:-)
