Flapper Visitors
Today Flapper had a fan come to visit him.

Cindy has been following the blog for about a year, and recently moved to Washington from California. I tried to warn her that it isn’t really that exciting to meet Flapper in person… that he kind of just stands there and eats treats, but Flapper tried his best to be entertaining, even splashing her with water.

The ducks were very impressed with Cindy, because she knows her ducks (and she fed them lots of treats). She had mostly cayuga ducks as a kid, and she also volunteers each year at the State Fair with ducks, geese and other small animals. She even had a pekin like Flapper, only a girl, and her pekin lived to be 10-years-old.

Cindy brought her friend Ciaran with her, too. He hadn’t been close to ducks for years, but Sam and Lily didn’t see any reason they shouldn’t take treats from him anyway. They were very welcoming since he had treats, and thought it was the least they could do, to eat ALL the treats he had.
Thanks to Cindy & Ciaran for dropping by and stuffing the ducks full of treats. They loved the attention and are happily napping in their aviary now.
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone out there… those of you with human children and also those of you who care for feathered, furry or scaly friends as well!

And what a perfect day to have a visit too with our great sunny weather we are having. (I’m sure it won’t last long though.) LOL It looks like all the ducks were stuffed with treats and happy.
Gayle, you’re going to have to make your way over here for a visit one of these days.
where’s ChooChoo?? i know he loves treats!!! was he being aloof?
Yep, Choo Choo came out on his own to eat treats, but I didn’t take a photo. O’Malley and Petunia did, too.
happy feathery and furry mothers day to you miss tiff! you are one of my favorite people in the world!
Thank you so much for letting us visit! It was a perfect day for visiting ducks.
Looks like a great time was had by all!!!!
That would be exciting enough for me!
Looks like one of those special visits, no everyone gets to meet Flapper and the gang (my time will come too:-). Wonderful. I’m always amazed that your kids are so friendly to visitors, mine all run as fast as they can! (but not many people visit us hermits).
I’m sure everyone napped nicely on a full stomach.
I hope you’ve had a nice mother’s day, yes we’re all moms and dads!
I wanted to share with you a cute little video made by a friends daughter about her “duck” (stuffie) I couldn’t find an e-mail address to send it to you so I hope it’s okay if I share it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esO8wcgE5hE
I loved the duck video sent by Stitch. Especially when we can’t have live ducks where we live, the next best is to have a stuffed one. I have an awesome collection of all kinds of water fowl; primarily ducks and geese in wood, ceramic, plaster of paris, cloth. You name it, I have it.
I bought a lovely wooden goose that had been carved here locally in the Puget Sound. The next day one of my cats had accidentially hit it (maybe) and the end of the nose came off. I had paid $80 for that Canadian goose. I think that my cat was reminding me he was living and breathing and much more important than that wooden duck.
I love them all. (and thank goodness for wood glue)
Happy belated Mother’s Day to the world’s best duckiemom!
Flap is so good to take time out of his busy celebrity schedule to greet the fans. Cindy and Ciaran are good eggs. I hope they didn’t get pooped on (much).
what a nice visit! happy people and happy ducks. yay!
