Muscovy ducks always seem a little kooky. I had a pair when I was a kid, and every now and then they would seem to briefly freeze and go into a stupor. They would also bite very hard, and they were really good with faces; unfamiliar people going into the back yard would be met with the trademark raised head feathers, bobbing heads, and that hoarse cackling.

Muscovy drakes are the sweetest, most clingy and lovable ducks on earth, but on their own, not in a crowd (of drakes;-) This is so familar, my boys are the same way, constantly impressing the other, open invitation for a fight, keeping the other under their thumbs.... You see why I have to keep my boys separated, let them loose and one will get terribly hurt.
I hope you'll find good homes for them once they're done molting.

I was watching the duck cam last night before it got dark and could see i think the Flapper flapping his wings at one of these guys, but i'm not sure. I love watching their bums in the video. They get the whole body involved in this moulting stance. LOL
