Meet Jessie
Jessie is a duck being cared for by our good friends at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. Jessie needs several more surgeries on his legs to help him have the best life possible, after severe neglect and abuse. Jessie was dropped by kids like a toy. And when he was “broken,” his family took him to a vet to be euthanized. This is just one of the many terrible, terrible tragedies that happen when people treat animals like disposable toys. Jessie–and all animals–deserve so much better from us.

If you are in a position to help with Jessie’s surgery bills, you can donate at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue’s website here:

Everyone at Flapper’s house wishes Jessie, and all the feathered friends at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue, all the best.

Stories like this leave me speechless. I just can’t comprehend. What idiots.
Re; my above comment. I mean the people who allowed children to play with Jessie like he was a toy are idiots. Not the rescue group. They are angels. Didn’t want that misunderstood.
Dear Little Jessie,
I am very glad you are among friends now. Real family. I wish I had all the money in the world to save all that have suffered as you. All I have for you is prayers.
Heal well, little one. Your happy quacky is needed in this world. Ask your new people about “the butterfly effect”. Happy little quacks reach far. Far into hearts.
Much love,
Heidi
I <3 Jesse!
Thanks Flapper for spreading the word about my friend Jessie! Pringles thinks Mr Flapper is a good egg!
I wonder if these were young kids and didn’t know better than to drop a duck; and/or the parents weren’t supervising the kids. A cat you can drop on his feet and he knows how to land but duck’s legs and feet are fragile.
How is Jessie doing?
