They are all hens. But hens do cackle in the morning, just not nearly as loud as roosters would. I can't take in roosters in my neighborhood - too noisy. We don't have a new top to the aviary but we haven't had any further issues. We have live wire to install soon, and we also have nite guard lites and shake away that seem to be helping. Flapper, did your owner get the new aviary covering so the raccoons don't take their baths on top of your home? We have had great duck and chicken weather. Not real hot, just right.
