Flapper the Duck at 10-Weeks-Old
(July 8, 2004)
Last Friday Flapper wasn't feeling so well,
so we went to the vet.
Seattle Bird & Exotic Animal Clinic determined his
new food was not providing the right nutrients.
The bad food caused his belly and chest feathers
to fall out. Scary!
Here you can see he is down to well... down in some parts.
But now he has new food and the vet pronounced him otherwise super-healthy.
Flapper weighed in at 7lbs too. That's a good-sized ducky.
Since Flapper is so charming and great looking,
the vet suggested maybe Flapper would like a friend.
She said there is a black duck named Rufus at the Seattle Animal Shelter, recovering from surgery.
Would you like a fellow feathered friend, Flapper?
You would still be top ducky, by sheer weight, but you'd have to play nice.
Once Rufus is feeling better maybe we'll arrange
a play date to see if you two get along.
Okay now you can show off your wings.
Those wings are getting HUGE.
Even the feet are big.
The flying could still use some work though.
I summon the power of big bird!
